Allergy Protocol

18 supplements for allergy relief and prevention Most often when seasonal allergies strike, we reach for the Claritin or the Allegra, but you can save yourself a trip to the pharmacy with these natural allergy-busters. If possible, get a jump on allergies by starting supplementation early, before symptoms begin. With the right intervention, you can stop the allergic cascade before it gets out of control.

Allergy Protocol CORE supplements:

Xlear with added capsicum for allergy relief: Bacteria and fungi that colonize the nasal passage and hide in biofilms are recognized as foreign invaders; their presence triggers chronic hyper-activation of the cells lining the respiratory tract. Xylitol in Xlear nasal spray inhibits microbes and dissolves biofilms, resulting in clearance of mucus. (Spray in each nostril every 4-6 hours as needed.) BreatheClear® with NTFactor®: This great concept teams allergy-fighting bioflavonoids with NTFactor®, which the latest research shows boosts bio-availability. (Take two, as needed.) (Not currently available via Fullscript—use the link above to shop directly with NTFactor®.)

NAC: In Europe, it’s a prescription medicine, used for reducing congestion and for thinning tenacious mucus. It’s also a precursor of glutathione, the body’s premier antioxidant. (Take one, twice daily.)

Aller-All™ is a well-balanced blend of vitamins, minerals and botanicals. These nutrients are known for their ability to support the body’s balanced response to environmental and seasonal changes.* Aller-All™ combines quercetin, bromelain, and vitamin C to work together to support healthy respiratory structures and functions.* This combination is also known to support the body’s normal response to typical seasonal challenges.* Other ingredients, such as B vitamins, zinc, magnesium, and licorice root have been included to further support both the respiratory and immune systems.* (Take one tablet, three times daily.)

(Take one, three to four times daily as needed for the first three or four weeks, then taper to twice daily for maintenance.)

Pycnogenol:  One of the more well-studied of the natural bioflavonoids, this extract of French maritime pine bark was found to relieve allergic rhinitis symptoms. (Take two capsules, one to three times daily.)
