IN MEMORIAM: Suzanne Somers on Toxin-Related Illnesses, Part 1
October 24, 2023
In tribute to actress and health & wellness advocate Suzanne Somers who sadly passed away last week, we're presenting her final appearance on the Intelligent Medicine Podcast from April 30, 2015.

Suzanne Somers discusses her latest book "Tox-Sick: From Toxic to Not-Sick". She reveals how devastating environmental exposures and mold sensitivity have undermined her health and that of family members, and how they have achieved recovery through integrative approaches. Natural organic food, chemical-free cosmetics and cleaning materials, specific vitamins and IVs have restored her to full energy and vibrancy. She dishes on her own personal daily routine of diet, exercise, supplements, hormones, and guided visualization. She interviewed top physicians in the field of environmental medicine and detoxification who share their expertise on how to reverse toxin-related illnesses. She issues a passionate plea for change in how doctors treat chronic illnesses now insufficiently addressed with drug therapy. Click HERE for part 2.

ENCORE: The Devastating Health Effects of Hormone-Disrupting Chemicals, Part 1
October 12, 2023
"Sicker, Fatter, Poorer" is a book about the devastating health effects of hormone-disrupting chemicals. Pediatrician Leo Trasande describes how hormone-disrupting chemicals get into our bodies; how they can mimic our natural hormones and what are the consequences in terms of development and disease including diabetes and obesity, brain disorders, infertility, endometriosis, fibroids, and breast and prostate cancer; how we can limit our exposure; and how we can vote with our consumer dollars to push for safer food and household products. What are “gender benders”? How do non-stick compounds compromise thyroid function? What are the dangers of can liners and plastic wrappers? How do “obesogens” thwart our best efforts to diet and exercise? How do these chemicals perpetuate a cycle of poverty for the poor and minorities? Do environmental regulations need to be made more stringent? Sicker, Fatter, Poorer" is a book about the devastating health effects of hormone-disrupting chemicals. ENCORE: The Insidious Dangers that Contaminate Our Food, Part 1
September 5, 2023
Each year, Americans consume hundreds of food products that contain truly dangerous compounds, including heavy metals, pesticides, and other harmful additives—with the blessing of the FDA. Why is this happening and why haven’t you heard about it? In "Unsafe at Any Meal", Dr. Renee Dufault, former food investigator for the Food and Drug Administration, provides the startling answers. While at the FDA, Dr. Dufault discovered that mercury—a highly toxic metal—was contaminating the plumbing systems of many food manufacturing plants. Upon further examination, she discovered that the same mercury was also evident in a number of processed foods commonly sold in supermarkets. When Dr. Dufault revealed these disturbing findings to her superiors, she was told to stop her investigation. Her continued efforts to raise the issue always met with a dead end, so she chose to take early retirement from the FDA. Dr. Dufault then devoted her energy to making the public aware of the insidious dangers that contaminate our food. In 2010, she founded an organization of scientists to study the scope of this problem and has published numerous research articles on the topic with little fanfare. To expose what still seems to be a well-kept secret by the FDA, she has written "Unsafe at Any Meal" to provide consumers with the information they need to know . . . before it is too late. The Hazards of “Forever Chemicals” and How To Help Get Them Banned, Part 1
July 5, 2023
Rob Verkerk, Executive Director of the Alliance for Natural Health USA joins us to discuss the hazards of “forever chemicals”—perfluoroalkylated substances—also known as PFAS. A crowd-sourced project enabled ANH to test random samples of kale—both conventional and organic—and detected concerning amounts of PFAS contaminants. Why are PFAS so ubiquitous in the environment? What are their health impacts? Why haven’t the FDA and EPA highlighted their presence in the food supply? Why is it imperative to call for an outright ban on these dangerous industrial chemicals? Go to www.banPFAS.org to contact your representatives and contribute to the banPFAS campaign. Click HERE for part 2.
