Much of what he stated then has proven prescient, although he admits surprise at the effectiveness and relative safety of the vaccines. As predicted, the metabolic syndrome has proven to be the most salient risk factor for bad Covid-19 outcomes. Dr. Galland has done extensive research on the role of the microbiome in mediating disease severity; imbalances in intestinal microflora put patients at risk. It’s also possible that long-term perturbations in gut integrity may account for some of the symptoms of Covid-19 “long-haulers”. Dr. Galland details strategies for restoring gut health.
