Heart Disease Starts Sooner Than You Think, Part 1 April 2, 2024 Think you or your kids are too young to worry about cardiovascular disease? Think again! While most of us assume that problems like high cholesterol or blood pressure are reserved for those over the age of 60, the truth is heart disease can begin decades earlier. In fact, recent studies show that a growing number of children and young adults are already living with serious risk factors that could set them up for a future heart attack or stroke. Jim LaValle, a clinical pharmacist, author, board certified clinical nutritionist, and heart health expert, reveals how we can help kids, teens, and young adults prepare for healthy cardiovascular lives. He also details some new and exciting heart health research from our friends at Kyolic showing Aged Garlic Extract’s ability to effectively lower blood pressure. Click HERE for part 2.

ENCORE: Precision Diagnostics to Reverse Fatigue, Burnout, Anxiety, Depression and Sleep Problems, Part 1 March 27, 2024 Stress is ubiquitous and has many manifestations. Naturopathic physician Dr. Doni Wilson has a new book, "Master Your Stress, Reset Your Health: The Personalized Program to Calm Anxiety, Boost Energy, and Beat Burnout," that details individualized approaches to stress adaptation. She characterizes 5 different stress types, based on variations in cortisol and adrenaline responses. Each entails a specific program of lifestyle and supplementation. We discuss the roles of genetics, diet, relaxation techniques, sleep, Adaptogens, vitamins and minerals, and exercise in stress reactions. A one-size-fits-all approach falls short. Her paradigm applies precision diagnostics to reverse fatigue, burnout, anxiety, depression and sleep problems. Click HERE for part 2.

ENCORE: Uncovering Psychological Roadblocks to Healing Back Pain, Part 1 March 26, 2024 Dr. John Sarno revolutionized medicine’s approach to back pain with his book, "The Divided Mind," in the 1980s. His thesis is that conventional therapies like surgery are over-utilized and don’t get to the root of the problem which is TMS—tension myoneural syndrome. Dr. Sarno died in 2017, but his disciple Dr. Ira Rashbaum carries on his work at NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation. The method pioneered by Sarno eschews even physical therapy, chiropractic and acupuncture, and instead focuses on uncovering psychological roadblocks to recovery. Dr. Rashbaum explains how stress literally robs aching muscles of oxygen and nutrients essential for pain resolution. Dr. Sarno was beloved by patients—including many celebrities—but reviled by many of his colleagues because he challenged medical orthodoxy which invariably treats pain as the consequence of fixable structural abnormalities. Followers of Dr. Sarno like Dr. Rashbaum argue that structural changes are normal, and not always the culprit lesions that trigger pain. Dr. Rashbaum reveals that the Sarno method works to alleviate many common syndromes, including headaches, TMJ, tinnitus, and IBS. Click HERE for part 2.

ENCORE: Successfully Challenging Cancer, Part 1 March 20, 2024 Turkish MD Dr. Sarper Diler joins us for a discussion of The Gonzalez Protocol®. Dr. Diler is Chairman of the Nicholas Gonzalez Foundation Scientific Advisory Board, whose goal is to perpetuate the legacy of the late Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, and make his unique therapies available to patients. Dr. Gonzalez was renowned for his ability to promote survival of challenging cancer patients using a highly personalized approach. The Gonzalez Protocol consists of custom diet recommendations based on Metabolic Typing. Diets run the gamut from vegan to carnivore, with some people intermediate, based on their metabolic type. Patients are required to consume high levels of pancreatic enzymes and other supplements, and perform daily detoxification procedures, including coffee enemas—it’s not for the faint-hearted or ambivalent. Dr. Gonzalez achieved success with many challenging cancers, and also treated other medical conditions, and documented his methods in voluminous case studies. The Nicholas Gonzalez Foundation has undertaken educating and certifying doctors worldwide to sustain his work. For those with less challenging medical conditions desirous of obtaining metabolic typing and diet suggestions without physician supervision, a low-cost option is available by clicking HERE.
