Ideal Medical Care, Part 1 June 9, 2016 Our flawed medical system may be undermined by doctor dissatisfaction, which is reaching unprecedented levels. Physician suicide is a taboo subject that often goes under-reported. Dr. Pamela Wible of IdealMedicalCare.org and author of "Physician Suicide Letters Answered" calls out the pressures to which medical professionals are routinely subjected: Impossible hours, abusive superiors, hazing rituals, regimentation, humiliation, machismo and the ever-present imperative to seem perfect and unperturbable. The results are physician burnout, patient abuse, avoidable mistakes, and rote medical care. Dr. Wible envisions Ideal Medical Care in which doctors in training are nurtured humanely and offered opportunities for personal expression and growth. Some MDs are striving to create their own ideal medical clinics which better address patients’ needs than our current assembly line care system. Other student doctors are dropping out of conventional training programs and designing their own curriculum, customized to their personal interests and career goals. Click HERE for part 2.

Drug-Free Way to Enhance Bone Strength, Part 1 June 2, 2016 Exercise is often encouraged for osteoporosis, but the latest studies push back on the oft-repeated contention that moderate activity can stave off bone loss. Dr. John Jaquish is a biomedical engineer and osteoporosis researcher who has developed a scientifically-validated way of dramatically enhancing bone strength without the use of drugs. Inspired by his mother’s plight when she was diagnosed with osteoporosis, Dr. Jaquish created a device to place axial loading through bone to safely cause osteogenic loading events—OsteoStrong. Since then the device has been placed in 240 clinics worldwide. Osteogenic loading has now helped over 12,000 individuals with their bone health. Published data has shown that treatment with this device has resulted in over 14% gains in bone density in both the spine and hip over one year with just once-weekly treatment sessions lasting only a few minutes. How does OsteoStrong work? How can bone augmentation be achieved without stressing joints? In addition to bone density improvement, does OsteoStrong promote strength, balance, and agility? What is a typical session like? Are all candidates suitable for OsteoStrong sessions? Why is osteogenic loading superior to high-impact aerobics or ordinary strength training? Click HERE for part 2.
