Baked apple with walnuts

Serves 6-12
6 large baking apples
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 packet stevia
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, freshly grated
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

  1. Core the apples and place them into a 6 x 10-inch baking dish.

  2. Fill the apples with the walnuts.

  3. In a saucepan, combine the stevia, water, spices, and butter. Bring to a boil.

  4. Drizzle the hot syrup onto the apples, then bake them uncovered for about 1 hour.
